Eating for pleasure

Do you eat for living or pleasure? To me, I eat for pleasure. I enjoy finding new places or trying new menus like everyone in MA English class always do at lunch.Tasting is a pleasure that I can find happiness.

What about foods which are strange and expensive, such as Kopi luwak or civet coffee, Alaska king crab, horse meat and whale meat. Some of these are rare and hunting is risky. Human search for new things to satisfy their needs but do we need those things to fulfill our pleasure. Do you think you prefer to spend lots of money for these things? Some people said those are the ways they fulfill pleasure. For me, eating for pleasure means the way of mixing the normal ingredients and the result is deliciousness. Here is the example of eating for pleasure, ice cream.

Ice cream is my pleasure. Eating ice cream makes me feel relaxed even I concern about my weight. Ice cream festival 2011 had been provided during 23 March to 3 April at Central Plaza Rama 3 in Bangkok. Ice Cream Festival was held annually in March-April to celebrate summer and involved a home-made ice cream competition. There were many favors of ice cream from many countries. You will find various ice creams in this event such as flower favors, shrimp favor, chili favor and wasabi favor. I did not have a chance to go there but I am willing I can go next year.

If eating is your pleasure, please mind on your weight. It is really hard to lose it.

  1. For me, actually eating is both for living and pleasure but it seems the latter is more gripping. I am one who likes searching for cool and delicious foods and desserts to eat that is one of my activities in order to make me happy and relax. But too strange and expensive foods as you mentioned are not my choices exactly. I think that those foods are not attractive and I don’t think those foods can make me happy. They cannot satisfy my pleasure as well. I prefer to eat normal foods but outstanding and it doesn’t mean that delicious foods will be expensive always.

  2. It is unarguable that eating for living is the way ones should do, but eating for pleasure does bring good to us as well, especially to our feeling. It's not that everyone can find the enlightenment, so we just live and do whatever we feel it is right at the very moment. And this does apply to eating.

To me, sometimes eating for living can't fulfil my desire enough. I also find eating for pleasure quite favorable especially when I feel depress or sad. Apart from talking to friends or parents, Ice cream, cakes, chocolate, and other sweet dessert are what I usually go for when I have no way to overcome a certain bad mood.

Like the saying "suck it, or leave it," since I know that sometime I can't leave the problem, that means I have to suck it. However, I choose to suck the problem in a form of sweets rather than the pure bitter cause of depression.
